Notes |
- She attended the public schools and graduated from the Meford High School and the Andover Academy. After her marriage she lived for six years at Middletown, NY. She went abroad after her husband died and studied three years at Dresden (portraits on ivory, porcelain and tapestry) and traveled eleven years, three of which she spent in Geneva, Switzerland. She met Mr. McCay while on a visit to Mexico and after second marriage made a tour of the mining district on horseback, even visiting famous haciendas of Real del Monte. She made her home in Mexico City until the Mexican Revolution broke out. She left Mexico with other American refugees on the steamer just before Diaz left. Since then she resided in Geneva, but has traveled extensively in Europe. She and her daughter are members of the Croix Rouge Francaise and the Suisse Lyceum Club.
She inherited 4/10ths of her sister's (Louise) estate valued at about $10,000.
